A Dads For Dads mentoring program
DADVOCATE
One-on-one support for fathers navigating separation or divorce.
DADVOCATE connects dads with peer mentors who have experienced separation or divorce. Through regular conversations, mentors share practical perspective, listen, and help dads stay focused on building meaningful relationships with their children.
The program is offered through Dads For Dads at no cost to participating fathers.
Find support
For fathers seeking support
Separation and divorce can leave you with questions that are difficult to work through alone. A peer mentor offers a place to talk, reflect on your next steps, and keep your relationship with your children in focus. Tell us about your situation so we can explore an appropriate match.
Share your experience
For prospective mentors
Have you navigated separation or divorce and want to support another father? Apply to mentor through the DADVOCATE program. We look for people who can listen respectfully, share experience thoughtfully, and maintain appropriate boundaries. Applications are reviewed before mentors are matched with participants.
How your mentor can support you
- Listen and share perspective from lived experience with separation or divorce.
- Help you reflect on parenting routines and practical next steps.
- Encourage you to stay engaged in your children’s lives.
- Help you identify when to seek support from qualified professionals.
- Provide ongoing encouragement through agreed check-ins.

The scope of peer mentoring
DADVOCATE provides peer mentoring. Mentors do not provide legal representation, therapy, financial advice, mediation, or emergency services through this program. They encourage appropriate professional support and focus on the father’s relationship with his children without taking sides against the other parent.
